Eva was born January 22, 1893 in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States.[1] Her parents were Charles Cowan/Cohen/Cohn and Dora (Levine) Cohen.
Eva, who had a sister, Ester (possibly Esther, later known as Estelle) two years older and another sister, Sophie, two years younger. Their father died in 1895, the same year Sophie was born.[2] Eva's mother lived at 127 or 129 Monroe Street (in Manhattan?) when she placed Eva and Sophie in the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, Manhattan, New York, New York about 1903.[3] Eva and Sophie returned to their mother and new stepfather in 1907. It is not known whether Eva was legally adopted by her stepfather, but she assumed his last name, Eisenberg.[2]
Eva married Samuel Adelson October 10, 1928 in the Bronx, Bronx, New York, United States.[4]
In 1930 Eva and Samuel lived in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States.[5] Nothing is known about their children, other than that they did have children.[6]
Eva, who suffered from heart disease and high blood pressure, had a fatal heart attack[2] June 20, 1977[6] in Huntington, Suffolk, New York, United States.[2] She was buried in the Anshei Emmes Cemetery in Plains, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States. She and Samuel share a headstone, with "Beloved Wife and Mother" inscribed beneath her name.[6]
