Biography
Matilda was born in 1863[1] in Pakefield, Suffolk, England.[2] At the time of the 1871 census, the family lived on the High Street in Pakefield (Robert was away, working as a fisherman).[3] In 1881 they lived at a shop in Pakefield and Robert was a grocer and draper.[4]
Matilda married Herbert William CONSTANCE in 1887.[5] At the time of the 1891 census they lived at 27 Queens Road, Hastings, Sussex, England.[6] He died in 1898.[7]
In 1899 she married Henry Edward MAULE.[8] In 1901 the family lived at 10 Vale Road, Newton Abbot, Devon, England, and Henry was an assistant land and engineering surveyor.[9] By 1911 they lived at 36 Buller Road, Newton Abbot.[10]
