Biography
Jehiel M. Coldwell was born about 1838 in Nova Scotia.[1][2]
A bond was posted on 2 Oct 1863 for the marriage of Sophia Delight Benjamin and Jehiel Coldwell. She was the daughter of the late W. Benjamin. The signatories were Jehiel Coldwell and Marsden Lowden Benjamin.[3] They were married on 4 Oct 1863 at Gaspereau. Based on census records, they had at least the following children:
- Eudora Coldwell, b. ca. 1865
- Adelbert Coldwell, b. ca. 1866
- Blanche Coldwell, b. ca. 1870
- Alice Coldwell, b. ca. ca 1876
In 1871, Jehiel Coldwell, a farmer, and his wife Delight lived in Gaspereau, Kings, Nova Scotia, with three children and Jehiel's father.[2]
(In 1881, Delight Coldwell, a widow, lived in Gaspereau, Kings, Nova Scotia, with four children. Delight was a widow.[4])
A picture of the gravestone of Jehiel Coldwell is posted on an Ancestry tree. The entry does not show where the gravestone is located, but the profile shows that he died in Horton, Nova Scotia. The gravestone shows that he died on 11 Nov 1877 at the age of 49 years.[1]
