Hi Mary thank you for allowing me to access my Great Grandfathers profile. I put everything I could find on him on it.

Could you please tell me how we are connected? Thank you Mary Handy

Hello Mary!

Sorry it has taken this long to reply - Just busy with life! My gr-grandfather, Calbert Smith was the brother of your gr-grandfather, Lowry Smith Sr. If you view the drop down menu under the Profile ID (for instance, this is yours: Handy-925) of any profile - The 2nd item is: 'Connection to me'. Then you click on 'Connection to me' on that particular profile and a page will appear indicating their connection to you. If there is no connection (yet), the page will state so.

I hope this helps!

Kindest regards, Mary

We haven’t heard back from you concerning the Scottish Clans Transition. If we haven’t received a response from you by 1 April 2020, you will be welcome to rejoin by answering the current g2g thread for joining the Scotland Project.

Best Regards,

Thank you for the info that may help me break-through the brickwall regarding my G_Grandfather.

Now that makes this a small, small world, indeed - My Buchanans move from Scotland to Ontario before heading down into Iowa, South Dakota etc. It would be uncanny if we have a connection there as well.

Thanks Mary. I've been sick for the last few days. I'll get back into this is a few days.

If it's in the gedcom cleanup and can be opened, it can be cleaned up. But it needs to be open or eligible to be opened. If it falls in the new date guidelines submit the open profile request. If it's locked, and has a manager, and doesn't fall within the new date guidelines, it will just have to stay as is until the manger gets around to it.

I've corrected a lot of the easier ones already so am left with the toughies. If the PM's of these profiles would all handle their own errors you and I would not be trying to clean up the mess. I didn't realize I am related to so many ancestors. Sheesh!
Thank you Mary, yes I agree about no suggested place names in some states. Virginia is difficult probably because of so many changes to it over the years. In those cases I just remove USA and leave the rest of the name as is. I appreciate your help but I hope you don't feel obligated to do it!
