Birth: James was born 25 Oct 1775. He is the son of John Cole and Elizabeth Buffam.^{[1] [2]}

Marriage: 26 Jan 1797 James Cole married Sarah Hanson in Berwick, York County, in what was the state of Massachusetts. Both have been living in Sanford, York County, state of Massachusetts. Sarah is the daughter of Caleb Hanson.^[2]
