Biography

Sally was born in 1827. She was the daughter of John Cole and Catherine Francisco. She passed away in 1903.

Sally Ann (Cole) Losey was born 15 Sep 1827 in Buffalo. Sally Ann Cole married John Condit Losey in or before 1845 when their first child was born. In 1880, they were residing in Monroeville, Erie Ohio and residing with them was John’s mother-in-law, Catherine (Francisco). Of note for later, of their 10 children, three had the following names: Catharine (b. 1847) [possibly named after her mother, Catherine Francisco], James Augustus (b 1852) [the Augustus part possibly from her sister (Arrue Cole Todd)'s husband, Augustus] and Emma Jane (b 1861) [possibly after Arrue Cole Todd's daughter, Emma Jane].

• A Standard History of Erie County Ohio, Vol. II, by Hewson L. Peeke, 1916 pp 1053-1055 discuss the Losey family, and state that Sallie Ann Cole and John Losey met in Monroeville and were married in New York state. Sallie Ann was the daughter of John and Catherine (Francisco) Cole, Catherine being a daughter of Henry Francisco. Sallie Ann "had come with her mother from New York State to Ohio, her father having died and her mother having married a Mr. Hill."
