1870: James was living with wife Mary Jane and 3 children in Bedford Township, Lincoln County, Missouri[4]. He is listed as a farm laborer born in Illinois.
1880: James was living with his wife and 8 children in Snow Hill, Lincoln County, Missouri[5]. He is listed as a farmer.
Death and Burial
James E Cole died on 5 October 1891 near Blue, Lee County, Texas. There are no official records of his death. He was laid to rest on 6 October 1891 at Lawhon Springs Cemetery in Blue, Lee County, Texas[6].
