He later deserted, and married a Dutch-Mohawk woman, Lydia Huyck. He also served with the Americans during the remaining years of the Revolution, lived in various places in New York, and then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, California and elsewhere.
