Biography

Jane Cole was born Jan 4, 1696 at Eastham, Barnstable, MA. She married first to Thomas Gross (b. 4 Feb 1677/8 Hingham MA and died between 8 Nov 1725 and 14 Mar 1727/28) on Dec 7, 1721 at Eastham. He was son of Simon Gross and Mary Bond. Her second husband was Joseph Smalley (born about 1696; died 3 Jan 1773 Truro MA) son of Joseph Smalley and Elizabeth Hicks. They were married 16 May 1734 at Eastham MA. She was his third wife.

Jane was a descendant of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower.
