Biography

Missouri Dale was born in 1890 in Greenup County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Arthur Dale and Louisa Elizabeth Cole. She was the paternal granddaughter of Reuben Dale and Tabitha Selvage.

There are discrepancies regarding her race. According to census data, Missouri was white in 1910, Indian in 1920, Negro in 1930 and white in 1940.

Missouri was the first wife of Blaine Dale (son of Sam Simpson and Charity Dale) whom she married on March 25, 1909 in Johnson County, Kentucky. They were the parents of seven children; Ella Mae Dale, Alka Dale Ward, Addie Dale, Richard Dale, Bruce Dale, Okie Mae Dale Lemaster and Isabelle Dale Ramey.

She passed away in 1969.
