Notes

A birthdate listed alongside the name of John Cole on an old piece of note paper from a previous family genealogist lists his birthday as 18 April 1778. That matches with a Baptism day listed for a John Cole on the Church of Latter Day Saints website which indicates his father is is John Cole and his mother's name is Sarah. The Christening took place in Badgeworth, Gloucester, indexing project C02589-2, System origin ODM - source film number 417115.
Family notes, presumably written by librarian Isabelle McTavish, suggest that Anne (Plowman) Brown remarried after the death of her first husband John Brown in 1841, to a John Cole, who apparently had no heirs with Anne. However, notes suggest John Cole is well known to this tree, being previously married to Constant Comfort Cole, and the grandmother to Isabella Susanna Matthews Brown. There is no proof of this marriage except for these notes. The fact that Constant Comfort Cole is buried in Drummund Hill, Niagara, one might conclude John Cole was here, and one might further conclude that Ann Plowman eventually wound up in Canada.
