Biography

Mr. Bligh married Elizabeth Ann Coleman, of Lakeville, her parents being John Robinson Coleman and Rebecca Nesbit (dau. of William Nesbit, a Scottish settler in King's, and his wife Dickey) Coleman, and in 1863 removed to Halifax, where in company with his nephew, Howard Bligh, under the firm name of "A. B. Bligh and Co.," he did business until Dec., 1878, when he was appointed Shipping Master for the Port of Halifax, a position he held till his death, and in which he was succeeded by his nephew, Howard Bligh. His children were:

  1. Frederick Pennington Bligh, Barrister, of Halifax; and
  2. Margaret Rebecca Bligh.
