John Coleman was born on 26 September 1706 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, the son of James and Patience (Cobb) Coleman.[1][2]
He married first Reliance (Paine) Cobb, the widow of Eleazer Cobb, and daughter of Joseph and Patience (Sparrow) Paine. They married in Barnstable on 05 August 1736.[3][4]
Patience died on 11 June 1742 in Barnstable.
John married as his second wife, Mary Hamblin, on 25 August 1743 in Barnstable.[5][6]
John Coleman of Barnstable, yeoman, died intestate; administration on his estate was granted to Mary Coleman, widow, on 1 Mar 1763.[7][8]
His inventory was taken on 01 April 1763, although it was not totaled, it was valued at approximately £70, of which £35 was the value of "two thirds of the house and land adjoyning". The inventory contained the normal household goods, books, livestock & husbandry tools, etc., also a shoemaker's bench, and £13 in "wages due".[9]
