Daniel and his family lived in St. Margaret’s Parish, Caroline Co. until 1745 when they moved to Goochland with his father and other family members. The land Daniel settled on was in that part of Goochland that became Cumberland Co. in 1749. Daniel also owned land in Pittsylvania Co. which was devised to his sons Stephen and Spilsbe.
Caroline Co. VA Order Book 1740-1742/3 entries show Daniel serving on a jury in Nov 1740, Apr 1741, Mar 1742, May 1742, and in Jul and Aug of 1745.
On 12 Mar 1742, Daniel Coleman was ordered to be Surveyor of the new road from Sutton’s ford to the new church. In Dec 1743, a lawsuit against Daniel Coleman and Anthony Samuel was dismissed. In May 1744, John Sutton was ordered to be Surveyor of the road.
11 Jan 1744/5 Caroline Order Book 1740-1742/3, p. 341: "Daniel Coleman and Patience, his wife, she having been privately examined, acknowledge this deed of land to Richard Broaddus and the same is ordered to be recorded."
12 Jul 1745 and 9 Aug 1745 were Daniel’s last appearances as a juror in Caroline Co.
On 19 Aug 1745, Robert Peak conveyed 400 acres in Southam Parish, Goochland Co. to Daniel Coleman of St. Margaret’s Parish, Caroline Co. VA\(DB 5, p.24).
15 May 1747, Daniel Coleman Jr. of Southam Parish, Goochland Co. sells 4 acres to Thomas Turpin. \(DB 5, p. 268)
