Albert began working as an engine driver and he and Edith moved to Erith.[4][5] In 1939, Albert was a stationery engine driver and living in Bexley.[6]
Albert Coles of Bexley Heath died 4 Aug 1942 at Woolwich War Memorial Hospital, Shooters Hill, London.[7][8]
