Research Notes

My husband has relatives that were Gadbaw's in St Lawrence Co NY. They were Julius Gadbaw/Gadbois born in December 1833, in Ogdenburgh, St Lawrence Co, NY who married Louise Hibien. My line is his son Horace Adelbert Gadbaw who married Elizabeth Young. I know the Young family came from Canada. Their children are D.E.?, Horace, Horatio, Curtis, Albert, Fannie, Hatie, Pandelia, and James.

Julius Gadbaw's father was Joseph Vandendaigue-Gadbois (born in 1803 in Racket River, Massena, NY)and his mother was Victoire Electra Hens (born 1806). I do not have a child to this marriage named George but the children listed are: Joseph, Victoire, Ursule, Celeste, Mary, richard, Louis, Julius, Julie, Jean Baptiste, Marquerite, Peter and M.Catherine. They were born between 1824 and 1844.

The father and mother of Joseph Vandendaigue-Gadbois are Gabriel Vandendaigue-Gadbois and Josette Mahair/Myers.
