When Samuel 'Sam' Charles Collett was born on August 25, 1895 (or 1896[1]), in Chamblee, Georgia,[2] his father, Archibald, was 30 and his mother, Avery, was 29.[3] He had three brothers and four sisters. He died on September 29, 1969, in Fort Payne, Alabama[4] at the age of 74, and was buried in Valley Head, Alabama.[5]
