Biography
When Paul Arnold Collett was born on August 12, 1935, in Ashville, Alabama, his father, Cicero, was 38 and his mother, Dollie, was 31.[1] He married Lamana Herstine Smith on July 11, 1953, in Mississippi and they had two children during their marriage, which ended in 1959.[2] He died on June 28, 1982,[3] in his hometown at the age of 46, and was buried in Oneonta, Alabama.[4]

Paul Arnold Collett, Ashville, died Tuesday at the residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Warren officiating.
Burial in Liberty Cemetery, Oneonta.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. Lamana Collett; son, Kevin Collett, Gadsden Rt. 6; daughter, Miss Paula Collett, Birmingham; mother, Mrs. Dollie Collett, Steele, sisters, Mrs. Juanita Shackelford, Birmingham, Mrs. Peggy Mashburn, Mrs. Peggy Fout (Note: this is a typo error, her correct name is Mrs. Patsy Fouts), Ashville; brothers, Herbert Collett, Ashville, Howard Collett, Birmingham; grandchildren, Shad and Chanda Collett, both of Gadsden.
Active pallbearers: Gregg Price, Keith Wise, Baston Lowe, Paul H. Collett, Johnny Knykendall, Perry Adcock.
Mr. Collett was a native and resident of Ashville most of his life.
The body will remain at the funeral home through the hour of service.
