When John Thomas Collett was born on October 11, 1870, in Cherokee, Georgia, his father, Archer, was 26 and his mother, Susannah, was 19. He married Frances Winifred Coltrane in 1894. They had eight children in 16 years. He died on February 18, 1938, in his hometown[1][2] at the age of 67, and was buried there.[3]
