Born 1878 Hull

John William Colley was born early in 1871 in Hull Drypool according to the 1881 census, and his birth registration. [1]

John William is the eldest son of John Colley a lighterman and his wife Martha Ann Longman.

John William Colley was scholar of 10 years living in the Drypool area which had become part of Hull with his parents John and Martha Colley, and younger siblings Alfred 3 and Minnie Colley just one. [2]
