John Collier III was a Virginia colonist.

John Collier is the son of John Collier who died 27 May 1676 in Surry Co, VA and Mary Ann Sowerby.
Children of John Collier and Grace Lucas are:

  1. Mary (Collier) Johnson, died 18 Oct 1772 in Albemarle Parish, Sussex Co, VA.
  2. Thomas Collier.
  3. Grace Collier.
  4. Benjamin Collier.
  5. Charles Collier.
  6. Henry Collier.
  7. William Collier, died Bef. 26 Nov 1759 in Brunswick Co, VA.

John was in the list of foot soldiers in 1687. He is found living in the household of William Lucas on the 1691 Tithe List. On the 1693 Tithe List, he is listed as head of household and so was married by that time.[1]

Abstract of the Will of John Collier:
COLLIER, John: Leg. - To daughter, Mary, one guinea, and to Moses Johnson, one guinea, to son, William, bequest. To son, Thomas, land. To daughter, Grace...to son Benjamin... To son, Charles, houses and plantation. To son, Henry, all the rem. of my land. All remainder of my money and pewter to be divided between my sons, Benjamin, Henry and the remainder of estate after debts are paid to be divided between the same three, Charles, Henry and Benjamin by lot. Give son, Henry to son, William, until he is 21 yrs. old. Gives son, Charles, to Moses Johnson, until he is 21 yrs. old. Make Moses Johnson, son, John, and son, Thomas, Executors. 3 July, 1732. Prob. 15 Nov., 1732. Wit: Wm. Hux, Solomon Hawkins, Charles Lucas.

source for his death in 1692? This site says he married c1692 either Grace or Hannah Lucas & died 1732.

Collier-2237 and Collier-1355 appear to represent the same person because: Dates are a little out, but the two John's are the same
