Biography

Josephus 'Cephus' Collins, Sr. was born 12 September 1869 in Tattnall County, Georgia, the son of Newton Collins and Nancy Ann Jane Mixon Collins. [1]. In 1870[2] and 1880[3] he lived in Tattnall County, Georgia with his parents and siblings.

He married Abbie Gill Kennedy.

He married Emma Nail 12 June 1907 in Tattnall County, Georgia[4][5][6].

Cobbtown was their home in 1910, with children Virgil, Hovis, Austin, Toy, Marshall, and Lovey living with them[7]. In 1920 they lived in Cobbtown with their children Austin, Toy, Marshall, Lovie, Dollie, Riney, and Man[8]. They were still in Tattnall County in 1930 with their children Dollie, Ernest, Bernice, Foy, and James[9].

He died 8 March 1934 in Metter, Candler County, Georgia and was buried in Hebron Cemetery, Cobbtown, Tattnall County, Georgia[1].
