"John married Mary Porter, daughter of William and Mary Porter of Spaniard’s Bay, Newfoundland, in 1811. Four of their sons (George (1813-1880), John (1822-1906), Timothy (1822-1905), and William (abt 1824-1905)) relocated to Indian Islands in the mid 1800s, with Timothy eventually settling in Seldom Come By. Many Collinses in the Fogo Island area can trace their ancestry to these four settlers[1]."
