James Franklin Collins was born about 1856-1858 to James H Collins and Elmira Collins, where growing up in Farmington Maine he had at least 3 siblings: Frances, Fred, and Charles H. A Eunice Collins, age 18, appears in the 1870 census that is not in the 1860 census. James F would later move to new portland Maine and Marry a charlotte May Merrill (aka Lottie) in 1879. their children were : George (1882), Charles Franklin (1891), Clara Belle (1883), Lottie May (1881), Laura Margie (1887), mae etta (1885). In 1880 James was a laborer. In 1903 Both Mae Etta and Charlotte died.
There is another record that may be of interest, a James F Callins and a Hattie Merril. It doesn't specify which of the "callings" or which "foss" was getting married, but it does list James's occupation as a butcher in 1901.
Other than grave stone, the records of James Franklin disapear online from the new Portland Area. It is possible that is moved and remarried. Indeed there is a record of a widowed Jamed F collins, born about the same date, who married an widowed etta morse in 1906. At the age of 48 each, they were too old to have kids together. He would live in Jay then Later Wilton Maine. The 1910 census records a Samuel French as his Father in Law. In 1910 he was working odd jobs, and In 1930 he was a laborer on a general farm.
He is buried in new Portland, Maine.
