Biography

Andrew Jackson Collins was born October 5, 1856, son of Thomas Courtney Collins and Sarah McCullough^[1].

In 1860^[2], 1870^[3] and 1880^[4], he lived in Georgia with his parents and siblings.

He married Louisa Josephine Morgan about 1881 in Emanuel County, Georgia. Their children were John Luther Collins, Andrew Wilson Collins, Alfred Clayton Collins, Thomas Harvey Collins, Ben Levy Collins, Edna Mary Collins Highsmith, and Willie Mabel Collins Butler^[1].

In 1900, they lived in Cobbotwn, Tattnall County, Georgia with their children Luther, Wilson, Clayton, Harvey, Leroy, Edna, and lodger Daniel Davis^[5]. 1910 finds them in Emanuel County, with their children Harvey, Edna, and Mabel, as well as a boarder named Ephraim Kennedy^[6]. By 1920, Andrew and Louisa lived in Aline, Candler County, Georgia^[7].

He died March 22, 1929, and was buried in Cool Spring Cemetery, Candler County, Georgia^[1].

He was mentioned on the death records of his son, John Luther Collins in Illinois in 1935^[8][9].
