NOTE: Although it has been included in Genelaogies that this Thomas Collins had a son named William Collins there is not one document proving that there was a son named William thus far.

Estate Sale and Distribution of Thomas Collins Estate 1820 18 Apr 1820 • Madison County, Kentucky Son-in-law, John Williams & Richard Moberly Admins of the Estate of Thomas Collins. NOTE: No William appears 18 Apr 1820 Estate record for purchases of the estate. Only children purchasing are named: Barbee, Garland, Thomas, John Maupin(Nancy), John Williams (Elizabeth), William Duncan (Sarah), Sylvanus Massie (Margaret) Mary/wife get shares. The only William Collins who appears in the records appears in the final settlement dated 24 Sep 1823 where one William Collins receives money for Garland Collins and Thomas Collins (This is believe to be William Collins son of Garland Collins receving for his father and his uncle Thomas who removed to MO. All the other children receive money in the final settlement.

Only one William Collins in 1810 Madison Co KY age 26-44 b 1766-1784 so he would fit but not in 1820-1830-1840 Madison Co KY census.

Others show this to be the William Collins on the 1810 Madison Co KY Census to be the William Collins born 01 Jun 1772 Pasquontack NC d Jul 1847 Shelbyville, IN

Thomas Collins m Nancy Ann Garland 22 Oct 1770 and was having children from abt 1771 - Garland, 1772 - William, 1774 - Barbee; 22 Dec 1777 -Nancy Ann and abt 1778-Elizabeth all born Albemarle Co VA. Presumed that Nancy Ann Garland Collins died in Albemarle Co VA as Thomas is recorded on records there during Rev War and married next in Albemarle Co in 1781.

Thomas Collins m 2nd Susannah Wallace 17 Jun 1881 Albemarle Co VA and daughter Sarah is listed in 1850 Franklin Co TN census as born 1782 VA.

10 Dec 1788 Albemarle Co VA Thomas Collins sells 300 acres of land on either side of Harris Creek to Edward & Thomas Garland (former brothers-in-law)

The William Collins attached to Thomas has never been verified (with actual sources). Everyone has "Estimated Dates" (b 11 Sep 1772 Madison Co KY and d 22 Feb 1847 Madison Co KY) so will look for records.

If he was born 1772 in Madison he was not the son of Garland or Wallace

if he was b VA yes but question if this William was the son of Thomas. This William should be on the 1820 1830 1840 Madison Co KY census and he is not found. Nothing verifies his birth or death date.

Barbee Collins went to Franklin Co TN where he died.
