Biography

He was a labourer and member of the 1st Hussars. He enlisted for the Boer War 23 Oct 1899, serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment. His next of kin was listed as Mrs, E. Johnson, his sister. He earned the Queen's Medal, South Africa with four clasps (Paardeberg, Dreifontein, Johannesburg, Cape Colony). His medals were sent to him at the Collins Hall Hotel in London, Ontario.[1][2]
