Catherine was born about 1853. She was the daughter of Julia Delaney and Timothy Collins
She married Alfred Albert Kiernan in Victoria in 1895 at the age of 70. [1]
She is said to have married (as Catherine Collins) a Thomas Dowsey in Victoria in 1907 [2] but this is not Thomas Dowsey as he died in 1891. This marriage either applies to a totally different couple or the date is wrong.
She passed away about 1923. [3]
Catherine has siblings on an Ancestry tree with the same parents but she is not listed on the family tree as there doesn't seem to be a birth record for her. I question if there is a type on the marriage record at Victoria BDM - as there is only one record for a Thomas dowsey and a Catherine Collins (unless she was married previously and they married in a different state. I did not find a marriage for them in the SA BDM or the NSW BDM. marriage must have been after 1871 (one tree on ancestry has Thomas as married to Mary Dodds who passed in 1871).
Marriage: Source Digger – Edwardian Index Victoria 1902-1913 Registration Number 5477/1907 Thomas Dowsey.
