A descendant (Frank - see Sidney Green, then Joseph, then Wade, then Joseph Frank "Frank", then Frank) of this man has been Y-DNA tested and found to be in the haplogroup J-M172 . . . he matches another DNA carrier named Collins (Craig Collins) whose most distant known ancestor is Littleberry Lee Collins (1765-1832, in Virginia, United States). (from the Collins match, Craig, via email [10/10/18]: So we are Collins cousins after all! I got this this morning and it looks promising. Almost 90% confidence that your cousin Frank and my dad have a common male ancestor within 9 generations. It doesn't mean for sure that Littleberry and Britton were brothers, but they were definitely at least cousins or second cousins. . . . )

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Brittain by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Brittain:

Collins-14147 and Collins-3404 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same father. Please resolve the different mother's surnames.
