Nicholas married Elizabeth Scattergood of Ellastone about 1678, and they had several children.
Nicholas was a church warden at the Ellastone parish church and his signature appears in the parish records of Ellastone for 1701.
Nicholas Collis of Ellastone is named in the will of his brother William Collis of West Haddon, yeoman, dated 29 November 1727. Also mentioned in the will are Nicholas's children John, William, Samuel, Scattergood and Jane Collis.
