Robert Colquhoun is a member of Clan Colquhoun.

Robert was born about 1622, the only son of Adam Colquhoun. He was described as Robert Colquhoun of Corkah, County Donegal. He married his first cousin Katherine, daughter of John McAuselan and according to Croslegh[1]had three sons and one daughter, William, Charles, John, and Catharine. [See research note]
"It was in the person of this Robert Colquhoun that our branch of the family found its way to Ireland."[2]
Research Notes
- The Colquhoun name seems to have been transcribed with many spelling variations, including Colhoun, Calhoun and Colqhoun. Colquhoun is the spelling recorded in the early records (see Croslegh).
- An unsourced entry on Find a Grave[3]and various unsourced family trees on the internet[4] suggest that Robert also had two additional daughters: Helen and Mary. Their profiles were originally attached here, but need to be removed at least temporarily until reliable sources can be found to support their inclusion in this family.
