"Happy belated 208th birthday to my 2nd great-grandmother, Susan Colton Pratt. She was born 7 Mar 1807 in Grantham, Sullivan, New Hampshire, USA to Lemuel and Lydia Shepard Colton. Susan was the 5th of their 6 children and middle of 3 girls. She lived her entire life in NH and VT. On 5 Jan 1831 in Johnson, Lamoille, Vermont, USA she was united in marriage with Clark Mills Pratt. They had three children including my great-grandfather Levi Clark Pratt. Susan died 19 May 1839 in Craftsbury Common, Orleans, Vermont, USA after taking ill from gathering maple syrup. Her great-grand-niece, Consuelo B Northrop, was the 1st woman to serve as lieutenant governor in the US. Because of that there are family letters at the Univ. of VT. At least one is to Susan and another tells of her death." "Happy 184th wedding anniversary to my 2nd great-grandparents Susan Colton and Clark Mills Pratt. They married in Johnson, Lamoille, Vermont, USA and apparently lived their entire married life in VT. In less than 9 years they would both be dead, leaving three young orphaned children including my great-grandfather, Levi Clark Pratt." by 2nd great-granddaughter, Mary Lay Stephenson
