Biography

Benjamin was born in 1790. He was the son of Eli Colton and Mary Crane. [1]

He was a veteran of the War of 1812, enlisting 11 September 1813 and discharged on 18 December 1813.[2]

He was married twice. He married (1) Polly (Aspinwall) Colton (1800-1841) in 1817. [3] After Polly's death in 1841 he married (2) Sophronia (Allen) Colton (abt.1803-1850) in about 1843. [4]

He passed away in 1882. [5]
