Biography

James Coltrane was born on Oct 11 1771 in Rowan County, N.C. This would later be Guilford County due to changes in the boundaries of counties.

He was married to Nancy Ann Fields on March 5 1795. [1]They had the following children:

  1. Joseph, b 1802
  2. Patience, b 1814

After her death in 1818, he married his second wife Mary Polly York in 1820.

James Coltrane's death was on May 1, 1839. His burial was at Ebenezer UMC Cemetery, Archdale, Randolph County, N.C. Will probated 1839 in Randolph County, N.C.[2]
