Biography

William James Colville was born in 1865 in Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary (Russell) Colville and Archibald Colville.^[1]

He was a tanner and currier by trade, having served his apprenticeship with Samuel George, a former proprietor of the Yackandadah tannery.^[2]

He married Annie Hall Johnston Waterson in 1894 in Victoria.^[3] They had two children.^[2]

William James Colville died on 22 November 1897 in Twists Creek near Yackandandah. He was buried in the Presbyterian Section of Yackandandah Cemetery, Yackandandah, Indigo Shire, Victoria, Australia.
