Born in 1874[1] Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, Alderman, Mayor (1947-1949) [2]and Honorary freeman of the Borough of Ilford. He was also Chairman of Ilford’s Education Committee . A primary school in the borough is named him.
