As a mark of appreciation for valuable services rendered by Mrs. J. J. Quirk, of Cudgen, who has been organist at the Presbyterian and Methodist Church services there for the past six teen years, that lady was entertained by the members of both churches. Mr. J. H. McDonald, home missionary at Tweed Heads, presented a dinner service to Mrs. Quirk, and his remarks were endorsed by the Key. L. Taylor, L.Th., of Tweed Heads, Methodist Church. The coloured people presented a clock.[3]
