On the 11th April 1877, he married Alice Jane Lethbridge, daughter of Colonel Christopher Lethbridge, H.E.I.C.S., at Glenfield in Leicestershire.[2][3]
Mr Sneyd's wife, Alice Jane, died in London on the 31st March 1885, aged thirty-four years.[4]
Mr Sneyd's wife, Lily, died on the 15th March 1891 in Clapham, about two weeks after the birth of their daughter, Anna Colquhoun Colvin.[8]
Clement Sneyd Colvin, Esq., C.S.I., died at Monserrate in Portugal, on the 26th August 1901, aged fifty-seven years.[9][10]

Marriage notice printed in the Hertford Mercury and Reformer, 20 October 1888:
Wedding.—At St. Saviour’s Church, Clapham Common, on the 4th inst., Mr. Clement Sneyd Colvin, son of the late Mr. John Russell Colvin, Lieutenant-Governor of the North-West Provinces, East Indies, was married to Emily (Lily), eldest daughter of Mr. William Shelford, M.Inst.C.E., of Westminster and Campden-hill. The officiating clergy were the Rev. L.E. Shelford, rector of Stoke Newington, and uncle of the bride; the Rev. A. Thornley, vicar of South Leverton, and brother-in-law of the bridegroom; and the Rev. Herbert Hughes, curate-in-charge. After the ceremony the wedding party drove to 3, Observatory-gardens, where Mr. and Mrs. William Shelford entertained a large circle of relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Colvin afterwards left for the Continent.[21]

MR. CLEMENT COLVIN, brother of Sir Auckland Colvin, who was on a visit to Sir Frederick Cook at Montserrat, Cintra [sic], died suddenly on Monday while walking in the grounds. Mr. Clement Sneyd Colvin, C.S.I., was a director of the Eastern Telegraph Company. He entered the service of the India Office in 1863, and was private secretary to the Secretary of State for India and to the Permanent Under-Secretary of State. He was appointed Secretary for Public Works in 1892, and retired in 1897.[9]
