Sergeant Luther Colvin served with Col. Ira Allen's Regiment, Vermont Republic Militia during the American Revolution.

Luther Colvin was born 1740, in Scituate, Providence, Rhode Island, the son of John and Amy Colvin.

On September 16, 1762, in Coventry, Kent county, Rhode Island, Luther married his second-cousin Lydia Colvin, daughter of Caleb Colvin and Anne (Burlingame) Colvin. [1]
