He was born a twin on 11 March 1979 in Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland, USA and is the son of Roger Combs and Robin Madden.
He an American singer and lead vocalist for the bands "Good Charlotte" and "The Madden Brothers". His identical twin brother, Benji Madden, is a guitarist.
Joel Madden married on 11 Dec 2010 in Los Angeles, California, USA to Nicole Richie.
He is a judge for "The Voice - Australia" (2012-present).
