Cleophas (Comeau) Comeaux is a descendant of an Acadian

Cleophas Comeau, son of Pierre Comeau and Lise Durio, was born on 14 December 1836 in Opelousas, St. Landry, Louisiana, United States to Pierre Comeaux and Lise Durio.[1] In 1850 he was fifteen when he was counted on the census with four siblings in the household of their parents in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.[2]

He married Estelle Roy in Opelousas, Louisiana in 1860.[3][4]

Known children of the marriage:
  1. Cleopha Henry Comeaux (1861-1930)[5][6]
  2. Marie Ophelia Comeaux (1862)[7]
  3. Pierre Hebard Comeaux (1866)[8]

He married Emelie Elise Lacombe in 1871.[9]

  2. Marie Videlia Comeaux (c.1873-1949)[11][12]
  3. Arthur Alexander Comeaux (1875-1952)[13][14]
  4. Jacques Leonard Comeaux (c.1877-1942)[15]

In 1880 they were counted in St. Landry with four children.[16]

He died in Opelousas in 1892,[17] on May 21st, and was buried at Saint Landry Church Cemetery in Opelousas, Louisiana.[18]
