When he was about 25 years of age, he married Marie Lord age 22, daughter of Alexandre Lord and Françoise Barrilau. Witnesses were Pierre Comau, Etienne Martin, brother-in-law of the groom, Alexandre Lor, father of the bride and Charles Landry.

In 1752 the family was listed in the census at Petcoudiac with 5 boys and 4 girls  and again in 1755 with 4 boys and 1 girl.
In 1756-1757 they were refugees at Camp d'Espérance at Miramichi. 
François married 2nd, Madeleine Pitre , daughter of Jean-Baptiste Pitre and Judith Theriot, around 1763 in Acadie .

In 1763 François and one other person from his family were on a list of prisoners at Fort Edward. 
After being released from Fort Edward, the Comeau family made its way to Annapolis Royal (formerly called Port-Royal) where they were enumerated in 1763. 
François and his family escaped the British soldiers under Captain Scott during the Expulsion of the Acadians between 1755-1762. In 1758 the family took refuge in Cocagne, New Brunswick, in 1760 they went to Miramichi and later to Restigouche, Quebec on the Bay des Chaleurs. Around 1765 Francois made his submission to the British and returned to Port Royal (today Annapolis Royal) with six of his children and their spouses. Sometime between 1769-1771 the Comeau families, along with other Acadian families left Port Royal and settled along St. Mary's Bay, Nova Scotia as this was one of the areas that Governor Michael Franklin had granted them after their return. Francois was granted 200 acres in the village of St. Bernard. His son Salvator was granted 200 acres in Belliveau Cove.
He died after 18 October 1784.
