Biography

Marie Josette Comeau was born about March 4, 1750 at Port Royal, Acadia. She was baptized March 4, 1850 at Port Royal. She was the daughter of Alexandre Comeau and Marie Blanchard.

It is not known how or when Marie found her way from Acadie to New France, but Marie Comeau married Jean Baptiste Labossiere on January 23, 1769 at St-Ours. He was the son of Jean Baptiste Labossière and Marie Ursule Rondeau. Marie and Jean Baptiste had 11 children, five girls and six boys between 1770 and 1793, however, three died as infants, one about six years old and another drowned in the Richelieu River as a young man at 23 years.

Marie Comeau passed away Dec. 27, 1842 at St-Ours and was buried there two days later.
