Biography

Charles Ferdinand Compton was born on 11 February 1832, in Georgia, United States as the son of William Compton and Indian Maiden. He married Susan Etheredge on 22 November 1852, in Marengo, Alabama, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Western Division, Walker, Alabama, United States in 1860 and Election Precinct 14 Horse Creek, Marengo, Alabama, United States for about 10 years.[1]

He married Susan Ethridge on 25 November 1852 in Marengo, Alabama.[2][3][4]

In 1860 he was enumerated in Western Division, Marengo, Alabama.[5] The household included C F Compton 38, Susan Compton 24, Panecy Compton 4, Charles Irby Compton 3, and Mary E Compton 0.

In 1870 he was enumerated in Election Precinct 14 Horse Creek, Marengo, Alabama.[6] The household included Charles F Compton 38, Susan Compton 34, Charly I Compton 12, Pernicia Compton 14, Pettie E Compton 5, Maggie Compton 3, and Lewis Compton 16.

In 1880 he was enumerated in Election Precinct 14 Horse Creek, Marengo, Alabama.[7] The household included Charles F. Compton 48, wife Susan Compton 44, daughter Maggy Compton 13, son Albert Compton 8, and son Earle Compton 5.

Charles died on 3 December 1896 and was buried in Putnam, Marengo, Alabama.[8]
