Biography

Birth

Isabel was the daughter of John Comyn, Knt., of Ulceby, Lincolnshire (younger son by his father's second wife), and Maud Unknown. In addition to Isabel, this marriage produced a son, Robert.^[1][2] Isabel's birthdate has been estimated as occurring circa 1310, based upon her husband's likely date of birth indicated below.

Marriage

Isabel Comyn married Thomas Clarell, Knt., son of William Clarell, Knt., of Aldward, Adwick, etc., Yorkshire, and Agnes, daughter and heiress of William Waleis.^[1][2][3][4] Thomas had reached his majority by 1 December 1331, as noted when his father gave him certain rent of tenants in Thorp, Barley, and Scoles,^[1][2] indicating that he was born no later than 1310. Married before 21 June 1335, Isabel and Thomas had one child, William Clarell, who was born circa 1340.^[1][2]

Notable Events

In 1335, John Hyghe of Roderham conveyed lands in Thorpe, Aldward, and Thrybergh to Thomas Clarell and Isabel.^[1][2]

Death

The dates and locations of Isabel's death and burial are unknown.
