Esther Conant was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on March 3, 1726, the daughter of Robert Conant and his wife, Esther.[1][2] Her family later removed from Chelmsford to Stow, Massachusetts. Conant says they "removed about 1754," but it appears, based on Esther's marriage record, that she was already residing there by January 1749.[3][4]
Esther, then of Stow, married first, Lt. Ebenezer Davies, of Acton, Massachusetts, intention recorded at both Acton and Stow on January 14, 1748-9. Ebenezer died in Acton on March 5, 1755. Davies children, born in Acton:[4][5][6]
Daniel Davies, born July 8, 1749; married, intention September 17, 1772(4?), Rebecca White; died December 7, 1816.[7][8][9]
She married second, Amos Parlin, of Concord, Massachusetts, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1757. The marriage was performed by Thomas Whiting, Justice of the Peace. Their intention was recorded at Acton March 26, 1757. They initially settled in Concord, but removed to Acton by 1759. Parlin children:[16][17][18]
Mary Parlin, born January 17, 1758, in Concord; married, 1784, Abel Brown.[16][19][20]
Amos Parlin, born April 14, 1761, in Acton.[16][23]
Lucy Parlin, born May 16, 1763, in Acton; died unmarried, December 12, 1837.[16][24]
Isaac Parlin, born February 5, 1765, in Acton; married, intention August 31, 1798, Hannah Willard, of Boxborough, Massachusetts; died November 17, 1809.[16][25][26]
Olive Parlin, born December 1, 1766, in Acton.[16][27]
Aaron Parlin, born September 5, 1769; married February 6, 1797, Martha Bancroft, of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts; died August 4, 1840, at Plymouth, Ohio.[16][28]
Esther was living on March 25, 1773, when she was mentioned in her fathers will as his daughter "Esther Parlin."[3] Sometime before 1775, the Parlin family removed to Westford, Massachusetts.[16]
On 8 May 1809, James Davies (her son) sold 4 parcels of land, which were described as formerly belonging to Ebenezer Davis, late of Acton, which had been conveyed to him by an agreement with his brother, Daniel Davis, and with his mother, Esther Davis Parlin, conveying her dower rights, as agreed by her current husband, Amos Parlin. The land was conveyed by agreement of all mentioned and recorded in Probate records on April 10, 1777.[citation needed]
