Charles died on 14 February 1915 in Crooksville, Perry County,[3] and he is buried there in the Crooksville Cemetery.[4] His occupation on his death certificate is listed as teamster. His father is listed as James Conaway whose birth was in Virginia. His mother was listed as Adaline Lee George whose birth was in Ohio. [5]

The death of Charles L. Conaway, a respected resident of Crooksville, occurred at the family home in South Buckeye Street, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock afternoon from a complication of diseases. The deceased who was 55 years of age, was highly esteemed by all who knew him and was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the Improved Order of Red Men. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Lewis E. of Crooksville and Carl of the home, and two daughters, Mrs. R. J. Gelston of Sunbury, O., and Vaughn of the home.
