ALMA MAE (CONE) BUTLER , 88, of Pearl, IL, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was a homemaker and a mother of many besides her own. She taught Sunday School and vacation bible school. She was a member of Pearl Church of Christ. Born Nov. 18, 1917, in Antioch, TN, she was the daughter of the late John and Effie (Whittle) Cone. She married John A. Butler Sept. 25, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, and he died Nov. 27, 2002. Surviving are 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John "Benny" and Betty Butler of Pearl, IL, Chris A. and Wendy of Jacksonville, IL and Steve W. and Emily Butler of Horseshoe Bend, AR; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Nona M. and Duane Perry of Lincoln, IL, Corine and Larry Weinant of Pittsfield, IL and Karen and Jim Shaffer of Milton, IL; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Walter John Perry and Kenny Wills; 3 brothers, Bill Byrd, J. W. and Frank Cone; a sister, Katherine "Sue" Hansen. Visitation will be held Wed., Oct. 18, 2006 from 11:00 am until time of service at Pearl Church of Christ in Pearl. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 at 12:30 pm at Pearl Church of Christ in Pearl with Rev. Wilson Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl. Memorials may be made to the church or the charity of one's choice. Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Pearl is in charge of arrangements.
