Nathaniel was born 28 Jun 1748 in East Haddam,Middlesex,Connecticut to Nathaniel Cone Jr. and Mary (Graves) Cone. Nathaniel married Margery (Adams) Cone on 19 October 1779 in East Haddam,Hartford,Connecticut. They had the following children:

Nathaniel was a farmer, and resided in East Haddam. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and received a pension in 1818. Served in 1776 in Capt. Timothy Percival's company, under Col. Jed. Huntington. Was at battles of Flatbush and Jamaica Plain.
He passed 27 Jun 1825 in Chatham, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States, and was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Chatham, Middlesex, Connecticut.
