Albert Bernard was born in 1890. He is the son of William Congdon and Ada Dick. [1] He married Ivy May Sturm in 1914 [2]
Mr W. Congdon, Grovetown, has received advice that his son, Corpl. A. B. Congdon, is returning to New Zealand from Egypt by the troopship Ellenga, which is due about August-2Sth [3]
After Ivy passed away in 1920, he married 2nd Amy Elsie Taylor in 1924 [4] He was a fruit-grower in Albany, Auckland. After Amy passed away in 1945, he married 3rd Lenetta Magdalene Parr nee Sorensen in 1947
PRESS, VOLUME - 7 JULY 1951 / OBITUARY - Mr A. B. Congdon, Wellington, July 5 Mr Albert Bernard Congdon, a former president of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, has died of a heart ailment in Canada, at the age of 60. Mr Congdon was on holiday with his wife, and had been touring the east coast of Canada and the United States. Mr Congdon had a property in Hastings before he came to Auckland about 1920. In 1943 Mr Congdon was elected Auckland director of the Fruitgrowers' Federation, a post he held at his death. In 1946 the directors elected him Dominion president of the federation, a post he retained until he retired in August last year.[5]
